Reverend James M. Lawson, Jr. is a scholar and practitioner of nonviolent civil resistance, widely recognized as a leading strategist and trainer of nonviolence in the Civil Rights Movement. He was pastor at Holman United Methodist Church in Los Angeles and has taught at GSUN since 2011.

Dr. Dolgon is a professor of Sociology at Stonehill College, whose research focuses on music and its importance to labor struggles. CDSC is co-sponsoring the Queer Studies Fall Lecture with Dr. Francisco Galarte on Wednesday, November 16, 2022, 5:00PM in the University Library Presentation Room. Please share widely with your networks and with your students and comrades.

Dr. Galarte is an Associate Professor of American Studies and Women, Gender, and Sexuality Studies at the University of New Mexico. He is author of Brown Trans Figurations: Rethinking Race, Gender, and Sexuality in Chicanx/Latinx Studies, explores how transgender analytics intervene or fail to intervene

in the current reading practices that exist in Chicana/o Studies for making sense of processes of racialization, gendered violence, queer sexualities, masculinities and femininities.
