We strongly encourage early application. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis each month from February through May. Only complete applications will be reviewed by the admissions committee.

Who We鈥檙e Looking For

The CSUN MHA program prepares early- and mid-career professionals for leadership roles in healthcare organizations. We admit students who demonstrate academic readiness, leadership potential, and a clear vision for their future in health administration.

We evaluate candidates holistically, not just by GPA or test scores, but by professional experience, motivation, and alignment with our mission. A typical admitted student has:

  • An undergraduate GPA of 3.0 (minimum 2.5 required)
  • 2+ years of healthcare work experience (range: 1鈥�10+ years)
  • A strong statement of purpose with clear goals
  • A demonstrated commitment to working in healthcare
  • Note: GRE or GMAT scores are not required.

We seek students who are committed to advancing in healthcare leadership roles. Most of our students work full-time and take classes in the evening.

Application Requirements (Two-Part Process)

You must complete both applications for your application to be considered. We do not accept late or partial submissions.

  • Online CSU graduate application
  • Application fee of $70
  • Official transcripts from an accredited four-year college or university showing bachelor鈥檚 degree with GPA of 2.5 or higher
  • International applicants: TOEFL scores required

  • Online CSUN MHA program application
  • Application fee of $30
  • 2 letters of recommendation
  • Video personal statement (3-5 minutes) discussing:
    • Your academic and professional background
    • Why do you want to pursue an MHA
    • Why CSUN is the right fit
    • Your goals and what you bring to the program
    • Note: If you are still in the process of completing your degree, indicate this in the personal statement video
