CSUN TIPs Program

The CSUN TIPs program is a unique teaching training program that has successfully trained the next generation of college instructors and professors for more than 50 years. Participants teach introductory psychology as the instructor of record after a summer of training and preparatory work. During the year participants meet on a weekly basis and are formally evaluated on their organization, content and other pedagogical attributes.

"TIPpers" will:Ìý
- have a rare opportunity to teach introductory psychology courses (as the instructor of record)Ìý
- develop a teaching portfolio - great for professional development be formally evaluated on their organization, content, and other pedagogical attributes in the development of their introductory psychology course.Ìý
- begin preparatory work in the summer (beginning June 1).ÌýÌý
- enroll in a 3-unit seminar on the Teaching of Psychology during the fall and spring semesters.
- get paid to teach a 3-unit section of PSY 150

Application Process:
Applications will open each May for the following school year.Ìý Completed applications will be submitted online (Link) and will included:
- completed application formÌý
- Two faculty letters of recommendationÌý- we will reach out to your recommenders
- unofficial transcripts
Applicant Requirements:
- Applicants must be enrolled in one of the CSUN Psychology Department Master's programs.Ìý
- Applicants must have and maintain a minimum GPA of 3.5.
