Incoming Exploratory Freshmen
Hello and Congratulations, future Matador Freshmen!
As you begin your college journey, we recognize your curiosity and potential. Being an exploratory student isn't about indecision鈥攊t's about possibility. Students who explore thoughtfully graduate at rates 20% higher than those who don鈥檛 change majors.听Our Matador Academic Pathways program is here to turn that curiosity into a strategic advantage.
During your first year, you'll have access to specialized advisors who understand the exploration process, tailored courses for students like you, career assessment tools to connect your interests with potential majors, and a supportive community of peers who are also exploring their academic passions.
Remember, your exploration isn't delaying your progress鈥攊t's ensuring you find the path that truly ignites your potential. We're excited to assist you through this journey of discovery and watch you thrive as you uncover not only a major, but your unique academic purpose.

For all other students, please note the Advising/Registration Workshops require a reservation.听Please complete the following pre-enrollment steps to become eligible to schedule your advisement appointment.
鈥淓xploratory鈥� is the term used by the University for students who have not declared their major.
鈥淓xploring鈥� could be used to describe students who may be declared but are interested in exploring new options.
听
Beginning Fall 2025 the Matador Advising Hub advises all Exploratory students and new International F-1 undergraduate students in all majors. Declared majors should听contact their appropriate advising office. If you are unsure about which advisement office applies to you, please visit the听Academic Advising听site.

Step #1 - The Intent to Enroll
Once you receive your admission letter from CSUN鈥檚 Admission & Records, please follow their instruction to submit the听Intent to Enroll.
Step #2 - Not Anymore - Title IX Training
To maintain a safe environment CSUN staff and students are required to complete "Not Anymore", an online, violence prevention program. To complete this training and have the Title IX hold removed please听log into your听听and locate the link for听鈥淣ot Anymore". If you need extra assistance, view the听step-by-step how-to guide.
Step #3 - The Hub Questionnaire
听will help us gather information about your academic history.
Once Enrollment Phase I (Steps 1 through 3) has been completed听you will receive an email invitation to schedule your advisement workshop date using our online appointment-making system.
The email invitation will be sent to the students鈥� CSUN email account.听Please check your Spam/Clutter/Junk email folder in case the invitation was sent to one of those folders by your email setting.
Enrollment Phase III听is the actual registration of classes on the day of your confirmed virtual or on-campus group workshop appointment.听Reminder, the Advising/Registration workshops require a reservation.
