Deadline: March 10th, 2025

Interested students must be in the last two years of their degree program and plan on pursuing a graduate program leading to the Ph.D. in the basic biomedical sciences are encouraged to apply. Students in the U-RISE program will participate in a variety of skill-building activities that are designed to make them more competitive for entry into graduate programs. Activities include completing a long-term research project (e.g. over 4 semesters and a summer leading to a senior thesis), attending and presenting at scientific conferences, and participating in professional development workshops.

Requirements

  • Under-served in the sciences according to NIH or Pell eligible
  • US citizen or permanent resident
  • Professional goal is to pursue a Ph.D. in a biomedical discipline
  • GPA >3.0
  • 4 semesters remaining before graduation
  • Full-time student status (12u)

Declared Majors in:

  • College of Science and Mathematics
  • Department of Health Sciences
  • Department of Psychology
