Alejandra Acuña, PhD, LCSW – Executive Director

Dr. Alejandra Acuña is an advocate for nonprofit capacity-building and community well-being. As the Executive Director of Valley Nonprofit Resources (VNR), she brings decades of experience in social work, research, and leadership development to support nonprofits in the San Fernando Valley.

With an MSW from UC Berkeley and a PhD from UCLA, Dr. Acuña has spent her career empowering organizations, leaders, and communities through research-driven strategies, technical assistance, and innovative capacity-building initiatives. She is passionate about workplace wellness, trauma-informed care, and fostering meaningful connections between nonprofits and the communities they serve.

Beyond her leadership at VNR, Dr. Acuña is a licensed clinical social worker, a former professor of social work, and an advocate for lifelong learning.

Psalm Sto. Domingo – VNR Student Assistant

Psalm is a Psychology major with a minor in Sociology. He has a strong background in technology, including experience with software like Microsoft Excel, Qualtrics, and Eventbrite, as well as computer hardware. He is excited to apply his technical skills in support of VNR’s mission and gain valuable experience working in the nonprofit sector.
