Office and Procedures
The Testing Center is open for testing Monday through Friday from 8:15 a.m. to 4:15 p.m. Please call (818) 677-2369 or email testing.center@csun.edu if you have any questions.

A government-issued identification (driver license, military identification card or passport).
Any items your instructor allows, such as your book, notes or a calculator.聽
Cell phones are not permitted in the Testing Center. Small lockers are provided to secure your personal belongings during the appointment. You will need your phone to scan the QR code for check-in upon arrival.
We are an open Testing Center and offer testing services to the surrounding community, other than for accommodated testing.

Simple Strategies to Help Control Your Anxiety
- Get or design sample tests聽and take several practice exams. Time yourself to see if you can finish in the allotted time.
- Get enough sleep for at least two nights before your exam.
- Be聽well prepared for the test 鈥 study!
- Don鈥檛 talk to friends about the exam聽just before going into the test.
- Before taking your test, spend a few moments聽writing down聽exactly how you are feeling and why. You may do this on scratch paper, in your dorm room聽or in the hallway right before class starts. Studies have shown that a majority of college students who did this simple exercise experienced a significant decrease in their聽anxiety while taking their tests.
- Circle or underline significant words in each question. Read carefully to avoid misinterpreting what is being asked.
- When working out a problem, write down whatever you know. It might help you to figure out the problem, and some teachers even give partial credit in recognition of what you know.
- If you feel very anxious or even panicky during a test, take a few minutes to聽calm yourself. Stretch your arms and legs and then relax them again. Do this a couple of times. Take a few slow deep breaths. Do some positive internal self-talk; say to yourself:聽鈥淚 will be OK.聽I can do this.鈥 Take a moment to get back io the questions.聽
Proctoring FAQ
When you arrive:
- Sign in using the QR code.
- Sign the Rules Agreement Form.
- Have current, government-issued photo identification.
- Pay any administrative fees.
- Store all personal items in a secure locker.
- Pass the security check.
- Safely providing test administration is of the utmost importance to us. We remain vigilant, with enhanced sanitization and distancing protocols.
- We strive to provide聽a quiet place, free from distractions.
The test proctor will receive the test via email (occasionally, via fax, U.S. mail, UPS, or FedEx) approximately two to three days before the scheduled test date. The materials allowed will be identified in the proctor/student instruction letter.
These materials vary based on the school/instructor's instructions.
