ICT Procurement
In compliance with California State UniversityÌýÌýandÌý, all Information and Communication Technology (ICT) programs, services or activities of CSUN must be accessible to all students, staff and the wider community. This applies to ICT purchases 91´«Ã½ which must undergo theÌýAccessible Technology Initiative (ATI)ÌýProcurement Procedure. Through this procedure, ICT purchases are evaluated to determine the impact they will have on the University in terms of accessibility. Departments are responsible for complying with CSUN's ATI Procurement Procedure, and ICT Vendors have an obligation to work with CSUN to mitigate any accessibility concerns in the products or services they are providing.Ìý
When purchasing ICT, departments 91´«Ã½ are responsible for:
- Conducting aÌýpre-purchase accessibility reviewÌýof a product or service to find the most universally accessible ICT.
- Obtaining an up-to-dateÌýVoluntary Product Accessibility Template (VPAT)Ìýfor an ICT product.
- Completing theÌýICT Procurement Form.
- Working with the ATI Procurement Committee, the Universal Design Center (UDC), and the Alternate Access Working Group to gather accessibility information of a product, coordinateÌýaccessibility testingÌýfor a product, and address accessibility concerns identified.
- Creating aÌýPlan for Alternate AccessÌýfor ICT products or services that outlines what the department will do to support equitable access.
To conduct business with CSUN, Vendors are responsible for the following:
- Providing a VPAT for their ICT products/services.
- Completing theÌýVendor Accessibility AssessmentÌýform if requested.
- Providing anÌýaccessibility demoÌýof their product if requested.
- Working with CSUN to mitigate accessibility issues and concerns in products/services they are providing.
- Develop anÌýaccessibility road-mapÌýoutlining a timeline for accessibility improvement in the product.
